The demise of a monarch butterfly

"...So she seduced him with her pretty speech. With her flattery she enticed him. He followed her at once, like an ox going to the slaughter or like a trapped stag, awaiting the arrow that would pierce its heart. He was like a bird flying into a snare, little knowing it would cost him his life." Prov.7:21-23.
Although this is not the verse I thought of when I took this pic, it is still a good analogy, even though both insects are females. I had seen the monarch happily laying her eggs all over the milkweed, and enjoying the nectar from the flowers on it, little did she know death lurked just around the corner for her. I blinked and when I looked again, I thought she looked kind of strange the way she was 'perched' on the stem of the milkweed, so I went over for closer inspection. I was too late to even attempt to save her as the praying mantis had already ripped open her body and was devouring her insides even though she still seemed alive, it was only her reflexes as she made her last attempts at escape.

When we think, "it doesn't apply to me," we've already lost the fight. Satan has us wrapped around his finger. Posted by Picasa
Such interesting contrast...
The beauty of a daisy type flower with one of the least liked insects,
the fly.

An infinitesimal part of Nature...

As seen through the eye of a pocket camera, captured by an amateur photographer.
As time permits, and I have access to high speed internet, I'll be uploading photos with captions. God has entrusted us with an incredible gift, Earth, to be stewards of it. How are we doing? Are we acknowledging Him as the Supreme Creator (of Earth and the universe), giving Him the glory and honor? or is His creation being worshiped?
